  1. The competition is jointly promoted by Ruapehu Bulletin and Whakapapa.

  2. Entries are open now and close at 11.59pm on 31 October 2026. Entries received after this time will not be eligible.

  3. To enter, participants must email their photograph to ed@ruapehubulletin.co.nz and include their full name, phone number and a short description of the photograph.

  4. The photograph must have been taken at Whakapapa during the 2026 winter season.

  5. One winner will receive one 2027 Whakapapa Winter Season Pass. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred.

  6. The winning photograph will be selected from eligible entries and the winner will be announced in the 4 November 2026 issue of the Ruapehu Bulletin.

  7. By entering, you confirm that you took the submitted photograph or otherwise have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.

  8. Where identifiable people appear in the photograph, you confirm that you have their permission to submit the image and for it to be used in accordance with these terms.

  9. You retain ownership of your photograph. By entering, you grant Ruapehu Bulletin and Whakapapa a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish, edit, crop and use the submitted image for this competition and for future editorial, promotional and marketing purposes across print, digital, website, email and social media channels.

  10. Where practical, photographer credit may be provided but cannot be guaranteed for every use.

  11. Entries must not infringe the copyright, privacy or other rights of any third party. Ruapehu Bulletin and Whakapapa reserve the right to exclude any entry considered inappropriate, offensive, unlawful or otherwise unsuitable for publication.

  12. The winner will be contacted using the details supplied with their entry. If the winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable period, another winner may be selected.

  13. Ruapehu Bulletin and Whakapapa reserve the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition where circumstances outside their reasonable control make this necessary.

  14. By entering the competition, entrants agree to these terms and conditions.
