2024 Day Passes

Day Passes for skiing and snowboarding are a great option for those planning to visit Whakapapa as a one off, or fewer than a handful of times in a season.

In 2024, our Day Passes are split by all mountain or lower mountain, which gives you access to our dedicated learner facility, Happy Valley, and the Rangatira Chairlift for progression.

You can also choose to visit on a weekday at a discounted rate, or weekend day. Day Passes are open dated, meaning you can use them any time throughout the season.

Not skiing or snowboarding?

If your plans at Whakapapa involve sightseeing or snow play only, consider purchasing a Sky Waka gondola sightseeing Pass instead of a Skiing or Snowboarding Day Pass. The Sky Waka gondola Sightseeing Pass allows you to ascend 2020m above sea level to Knoll Ridge Chalet, featuring a dedicated snow play area and the highest café in New Zealand.

Supporting Search and Rescue Dogs Avalanche NZ (SARDA)

Accompanying Adult Pass

Support your kids on foot in our beginner area, Happy Valley. This pass is reserved for adults, who are not skiing or snowboarding themselves, with small children they want to help and instruct.

An accompanying adult pass is for one adult supporting one child aged 10 and under.

We offer two session times at the following prices:

Morning session 9am-1pm: $24
Afternoon session 1-4pm: $14

Due to safety, the passes are capped to a maximum of 50 per session.

With your 2024 Whakapapa Winter Season Pass, you will also receive 3 days' access to each of the 22 premier Powder Alliance Resorts in the USA and Canada.
For current Powder Alliance members from overseas, we invite you to visit us during the winter season, typically from late June to late October, for skiing and snowboarding. Please contact us in advance to arrange your 3-day access at info@whakapapa.com.
