The Sky Waka Gondola is closed today for scheduled maintenance while the crew gets some important summer work done.

While the gondola takes a short break, Lorenz's Bar & Cafe in the base area will be serving from 10am and the Whakapapa Shop will be open as well. The Meads Wall Trail is still accessible from the base area, so you're welcome to come up for a walk and take in the views.

Planned summer maintenance closures for the gondola are 12 to 15 March and 19 to 21 March 2026.
