Terrain Parks

We've got dedicated freestyle terrain parks at both Turoa and Whakapapa maintained by the Rip Curl Terrain Park Crew. You'll find something for all levels from grom to fully fledged park rat. If park is important to you make sure you check back here for the latest park update and check out the Snow Report for current park status before your visit. Park conditions can change dramatically from week to week!

Note

The availability of terrain park features are weather and snow conditions permitting. Check the snow report for the latest conditions.

At Whakapapa

The 2010 park for Whakapapa is now permanently located in the Valley.  Running the length of the T-Bar you can do fast laps of the Valley hitting jumps boxes and jibs on your way through.
With a backdrop of the Pinnacles, the plains, the new cafe, Mt Taranaki, and (if your lucky) the ocean, there's no better place to capture your skills on camera!

Update 3/09/2010

The Upper section of the park is ideal for beginners to find their feet on the easy flat boxes and small jump.  In the lower section of the park you will find a medium jump line and some more intermediate box/rail features.  We currently have a low level street down rail followed by double flat box and an up flat box.  You can also go to town with your 'shifties' on the olly table feature with it's tappable pole.  The springy race pole may crop up on other features from time to time so get inventive and get your 'tap' on!

Since recent weather patterns have blessed us with more snow we have started working with the park groomers to 'beef up' the current snow features and will be adding more jibs over the next few days.

At Turoa

Turoa's Medium Terrain Park is found off the High Flyer Chairlift. Here you'll find a good range of features for intermediate to advanced park riders.

The XL Park sits alongside the Medium Park and features big kickers for advance park riders.

If you're just starting out with park riding you'll find some flat ride-on ride-off boxes in the Alpine Meadow to get going on.

Mother Terrain Park update 8/8/10

With more snow falling in the last few days we are getting excited about expanding our parks. So far limited snow hasn’t allowed us to build as many features as we would like. We have started to rebuild the park for this weekends slopestyle and will be increasing the amount of features available for all levels of skiers and riders. Construction of the Tower 4 park has also started, this will include some fun features aimed at beginners. We appreciate everyone's patience as limited snow levels have been testing for our builders and drivers and they are working hard to build the best park they can for you all.
