If you're looking to get qualified, The New Zealand Snowsport Instructor Alliance (NZSIA) offers internationally recognised instructor qualifications for skiers and snowboarders. Their 4 day Certificate in Ski Instruction and Certificate in Snowboard Instruction (Level 1) certifies to teach up to advanced beginner level and their Level 2 qualification certifies to teach more advanced skiers/boarders. Mt Ruapehu offers 3 different options for training and preparing for the Level 1and Level 2 exams.

If you don't want to give up your day job but do want to get qualified, Turoa offers an 11 weekend programme that will prepare you for the NZSIA Level 2 exam.

For those who want to get some really serious snow time, the Turoa Snowsports Institute offers an accommodation inclusive 12 week training programme that will prepare you for the NZSIA Level 2 exam. 

And for those who want to earn while they learn, we offer an instructor apprenticeship for a limited number of people each year. No prior experience in teaching is necesary but you must be able to show that you are a competent skier/snowboarder.
